Welcome

When a soldier has been wounded, initial support is usually in no short supply. Friends and neighbors jump in to help, making an occasional dinner, or taking care of the kids. Likewise, the military takes care of rehabilitation, prosthetics, and retraining. But what happens two, five, or ten years down the road? It’s long after the dust has settled for all those who have stepped up to lend a hand, but not for the soldier and his family. Often their lives will never be the same. Physical injuries may prevent them from returning to what they once knew as a normal job, their families have been uprooted to move closer to hospitals and rehabilitation centers, and their financial future is uncertain.

FriendsforSoldiers.org has been founded as a response to those long term needs, to raise money for a wounded soldier and his family, and provide a forum for sharing our friendship and support for him while he recovers. Additionally, we hope this website is just a beginning: a beginning that will, in time, offer the same benefits to other soldiers wounded in the defense of our nation.
